Ruth and Paul set up The Good Life Press in 2002, and 6 years later launched Home Farmer Magazine half way through 2008. They took over the editorial reigns in late 2010 and are both really looking forward to this exciting change.

We also welcome your photographs and letters. I am afraid we couldn’t guarantee their return although we will do our best.

Chris Charles runs his own design company, Pica Media, and it is his flair, talent and just a little bit of magic that make each page of Home Farmer a joy to turnover.

Advertising

Advertising Hippy Bob Contact

Bob from Ef Media gets on the phone and sells those precious spaces for us. We try to keep our advertising to editorial ratio realistic but at the same time we do need advertising to help towards all the heavy costs associated with publishing a magazine. So a thank you to all our advertisers as well. If you want to advertise give Bob a ring and make his day!

The Backroom

Most day to day enquiries for sales, subscriptions as well as book sales come through to either Ruth, Paul or Rachel (whoever picks up the phone really) at The Good Life Press HQ in Preston. Husband and wife team, Ruth and Paul, are the founder directors and set up the company back in 2002 as Farming Books and Videos. Changing the name to The Good Life Press in 2007 enabled us to grow the company, pull together a more focussed book publishing side as well as launch our much loved Home Farmer magazine – truly a labour of love for all involved. We are all very much hands on – unavoidable in a small team but it is Paul you usually see out at the shows, in all weathers.

A little note about availability

Getting copies of any niche magazine onto newsagent shelves is HARD WORK and can be very, very expensive. The supermarkets offer shelf space – at a cost which is often in 4 figures for just a week. Needless to say you will not find us sitting on many supermarket shelves! Alas, your independent, local newsagent is a dying breed with limited shelf space. However we are gaining more shelf space every month as we grow and demand rises. All newsagents can get Home Farmer as we distribute nationally as well as into Southern Ireland so just ask them to order it from their wholesaler. You could help us by suggesting they order in a couple for their shelf as well…..failing that give us a ring on 01772 720671 and we will sort it out for you to arrive direct to your door.
