Manuscripts:
We would always prefer that copy was sent in a word document on a disc or emailed directly through to us. Any other format must be discussed with the editor before submitting. The work and the photographs must be original and has not been published in another magazine before.
Content
Our best advice is for you to get a good ‘feel’ for the magazine and our audience. If you feel that you have a good angle that will be of relevance and interest then email the editor in the first instance an outline of your proposal. We ask that you check the work for spelling errors before it is submitted.
We are looking for practical and inspiring features aimed very much at the hands-on Home Farmer: The choice of subjects is broad and could cover planting a garden, building, renewable energy, crafts, DIY projects. renewable energy projects. All should be tested out and have step-by-step instructions for others to use and adapt. The work may benefit from including plans, photographs, illustrations to help the text
Photographs:
We strongly suggest that you submit photographs to accompany your feature. These must be hi rez (min 300 dpi) J-Pegs. Always try to supply a generous selection so that the editor and designer have a choice of material. If you send up your original photographs we will endeavor to return to you however we cannot be liable for loss. Using a label please label each photograph on the back with your name and address and caption. You must also say who the photograph is taken by if not yourself and make sure that you have their full agreement to publish it. We accept no responsibility if this permission has not been gained and there are no reproduction fees available.
Length:
Unless otherwise discussed keep your article to 1000 – 1500 words.

We endeavor to take good care of material submitted, but we cannot take responsibility for loss or damage in the post or otherwise.
The Editor reserves the right to change your article without dramatically losing the meaning and integrity of your work.
Your submission is acceptance that we have the UK Rights for publication plus the Rights to include the article electronically on either www.homefarmer.co.uk or www.goodlifepress.co.uk work.
